Managers log – Sunday 29th September
0-14, a very tough day for all of us last Sunday against Enfield Thirds. We share this score line with a club called Knaphill who lost by the same amount to Brentford WFC. So we are not the only club going through the hard process of learning on the job. I feel the biggest factor in our loss this week. Was our inability to keep our 4-4-2 formation. It takes effort and practice to gain that experience to hold our shape. We will get that but it does take time and confidence.
I can say with pride none of you gave up trying. I saw some very exhausted players after that whistle blew. I mentioned Pain & Glory during the half time talk and a certain person said Monday morning “Well I’m in pain where is my glory?” It’s playing football – when it’s not easy, when your unlikely to get a result, but still trying your best and that is real ‘glory’!
Woman of the match was Lívia Thimotheo, who again showed bravery and skill between the posts. And my (manager’s) player was Laurence Rose Mencé, a newbie just starting out but worked hard however difficult a times but persevered until the end, a real trooper.
